2017 Rebel 500, $5200, orange tank, 6,006 miles, Radial tires (bought at 4,300 miles), Vance & Hines muffler (sounds great!), added Tachometer, Royal Enfield seat (more comfort than stock seat), bike is lowered (28″seat height) great for shorter people, improved front forks, better rear shocks, Blinker Genie rear running lights, added Custom Dynamics rear light, rear lights are 10x brighter than stock, all bulbs changed to LED, anti-vibration motor mount bar, 4 sliders, hand guards, turn signal reminder lights, passenger seat and footpegs, Fiamm horn, cramp-buster, runs and drives great ….. brake fluid just changed, has synthetic oil, just lubed/adjusted chain, comes with two keys, owners manual, and maintenance record. The bike has not been in an accident. Never abused. MPG 67.8 summer / 61.2 winter. Since is has the lighter steering radial tires, the 408 lb bike steers like it weighs 300 lbs. The radials made a big improvement in the bike – improved ride quality, handling, smoothness, wet weather traction, resistance to ruts/grooves/seams in the pavement, and less rolling resistance. Front fork improved – resolving the preload sag and tightening up the too soft front forks. Has 2020 Rebel shocks (nitrogen filled and stiffer spring rate.)
The front fork improvements are 1) using heavier fork oil, 2) increasing fork oil level one inch (25 mm), and 3) replacing the stock preload tube with a PVC pipe that is 20 mm longer. These are common low cost fork mods. The result is much improved front shocks – resolving the preload sag and tightening up the too soft front forks.
