2017-2019 – Alternator capacity of the 2017 to 2019 Rebel 500 is 402 watts.(Estimated) If you have changed to all LED bulbs, you have available capacity of about 130 watts (9.5 amps) for adding accessories.

2020-2023 – Alternator capacity of the 2020 and later Rebel 500 is 0.5 kW or 500 watts. (Starting in 2020, the Rebel 500 has a different stator). The 2020-23 has an estimated available capacity of about 230 watts (17 amps) for adding accessories.

Alternator capacity of the Rebel 1100 is 419 watts at 5,000 rpm. (Based on the 500’s capacity) estimated available capacity is 130 watts (9.5 amps) for adding accessories.

If you add heated accessories, I recommend adding a voltage gauge – that way you will see if your voltage is dropping too low. Keep in mind if you connect it near the headlight, the reading will be about 1.2 volts lower than if you measured directly at the battery. On my Rebel 300, 11.7 volts on the gauge is 12.9 volts at the battery.

Heated grips use about 30 watts.
