My 2nd Rebel 300

Summary –

1).Using app, measure vibration for each change shown below. Make changes one at a time.

2). See if Vans grips help more for vibration than foam covers

3). How to improve rider confidence on highway?

4). See if saddlebags with 40 lbs help highway stability.

5). Lighter weight tires for more performance. Do rear tire first.

6). Don’t do 15T. See if I can tolerate the stock gearing

7).Try to find the Vietnam double exhaust.

8).Add cushion to the stock seat – DIY.

9).Add cushion to my dual seat – DIY. Discard the existing foam – it’s too hard.

I will be downloading an app that measures vibration. As I do things to reduce vibration, I can measure to see how well they work.

Rebel 300 – to 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 coming through the handlebars:

Maybe get a Virago 250 instead. •get a newer one •See if I can tolerate the stock front controls •Virago sounds much better •Virago has much less vibration. •Add tape for tach to speedo

  • thicker grips OR grip covers (like Grip Puppy)
  • crash bars (adds rigidity and weight to frame)
  • tighten all motor mount bolts (for torque settings see comments)
  • if you have removed the driver footpeg rubber inserts, put them back in for less vibration through the pegs.
  • add nylon washers to the driver footpeg braces – you need four washers.
  • rubber mounting for the bars
  • anti-vibration motor mount bar – remove the two lower front motor mount bolts and replace with one 3/8″ threaded rod and buy frame sliders for the rod ends.
  • add nylon washers to front motor mount
  • (Rebel 300/500/1100 already has bar weights)
