• SW-Motech saddlebags – also will fit without modification (OEM Honda bags are just rebranded Motechs)
• Honda OEM saddlebags -will fit without modification. Link for Honda saddlebags: https://powersports.honda.com/…/rebel-500/accessories. Note on the Honda OEM Nylon saddlebags: The left bag is bigger than the right bag, due to the exhaust. The right hand smaller bag WILL NOT FIT the left side bracket (due to the locking system)

Cheap , Didn’t fit – too long – pushed on the rear turn signals” …. •per another Rebel 500 owner: “I have them on my 500 but they are not the best, I would highly recommend getting a bracket for them to sit on. Plenty of room inside, they can extend as well. If they were on a bracket, they would definitely be better” …

• (from another site) I use the Viking Axe universal throwover bags – really well made and easy on/off. They expand if you need to carry more stuff. Not the prettiest but very efficient. Any universal bags you get will probably need a set of saddlebag stays to keep them out of the wheel and off of the shocks – you can get some solid ones on eBay for around $100

[user note on the Viking waterproof hard bags: “Need to buy bolts at Home Depot. It came with imperial bolts, not metric. Correct bolts are M8 1.25 70mm. The instructions also say to align the bracket as vertical as possible. Don’t, as it will hit the brake caliper. Align as horizontal as possible. I have 2 extra holes in it now.”]
